Description
Touring production of the "Art‑Master" theatre in Helsinki on Saturday, 5 Dec at 20:00. “I am Anfas, or Dear Diary…” – a collage play about women’s experience, assembled from personal diary entries, stories and voices of real and fictional heroines. On New Year’s Eve Nastya dialogues with herself and her past, while on stage appear Catherine II, Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart, Sei Shōnagon, Anna Karenina, Joan of Arc, the Virgin Mary and even Medusa. The story explores an inner world where teenage complexes coexist with youthful hopes, New Year’s promises and childhood fears, traumas and joys, love and emptiness. It is not a linear plot but a mosaic – like diary pages: torn sheets, marginal notes, doodles. “I am Anfas…” is an honest conversation about pain and shame, beauty and the body, motherhood and freedom, fear and love. It is also about light – the light that exists within us. Texts by Sasha Sokolov, Vera Pavlova, Fyodor Svarovsky, Ester Bol (Asya Voloshina), Ivan Vyrypayev, Soijin Jambalova, Paul Elyuar, Sei Shōnagon, Ekaterina Bondarenko, Aglaya Dateshidze, Yulia Voronova, Darya Slyusarenko, Natalia Ermolina and the participants’ personal diaries. Director – Kira Mirutenko. Video – Pavel Semchenko. 18+. Tickets are non‑refundable.
