Clarion Jazz: Aarni Häkkinen and Lassi Kouvo
As Clarion’s guest soloist, the brilliant Aarni Häkkinen is one of the country’s most in‑demand freelance trumpeters. He regularly appears, among others, with the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and the Quarantine Big Band Helsinki and has served as lead trumpeter in the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra. Häkkinen plays on the Grammy‑nominated album Remembering Bob Freedman (Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, 2023). He has performed with, among others, Ron Carter and Chuck Israels.
In Clarion’s jazz sessions we will hear him together with pianist Lassi Kouvo. The program includes Christmas classics in the spirit of Swinging Christmas among selected jazz standards.
