Giuseppe Verdi: Four Sacred Pieces
Richard Wagner – Henk de Vlieger: Tristan und Isolde – An orchestral passion
In a one‑hour orchestral version of Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, the focus is solely on the main characters, whose tragic love story is presented from beginning to end in seven scenes.
The opera composer Giuseppe Verdi, known for his operas, began his musical career at age 12 as a village church organist. In recent years he returned to his early church‑music roots in Four Sacred Pieces. The Music House Choir transforms into many forms, from a small a cappella ensemble to a double choir accompanied by orchestra.
