Tapiolasali.
One of our country’s most respected and beloved soloists, the natural and genuine Johanna Iivanainen turns 50 in November. To mark her milestone the artist will be seen in two celebratory concerts in splendid settings. Johanna arrives at Tapiolasali on 18 November. The ensemble features seasoned, distinguished musicians from Johanna’s long career: Mikko Iivanainen (guitar), Seppo Kantonen (piano), Juho Kivivuori (double bass) and Anssi Nykänen (drums). The concert program consists mainly of Johanna’s own English‑ and Finnish‑language solo repertoire. Both concerts will feature new arrangements written especially for this ensemble as well as brand‑new, as yet unpublished music.
"Years fly faster, I slower, but the love for singing remains. So immensely grateful for having worked with many great top musicians and to convey feelings and stories to people. Inspired by the band leaders I admire, I have since focused on making my own music. I was able to bring beloved musicians into the celebratory concerts and it is wonderful to have these songs shine with their colours" Johanna comments on her pre‑concert excitement.
