“Let us celebrate these beautiful days and all these beautiful years…” Two great composers and Yle turn 100, and under Dima Slobodeniouk's baton the RSO celebrates a century of creative power. In 1926 Sibelius gazed into the endless forests of Tapiola, while Varèse's Amériques received a new urban silhouette glowing in neon colours. Kurtág's stark Stele shreds the darkest moments of the 20th century, but Betsy Jolas's latest work is a magnificent song of joy and hope.
