Anna Lapwood is the first official organist in the over 150‑year history of London’s Royal Albert Hall. Her enthusiasm for her instrument is contagious. Lapwood has millions of followers on social media, who have been able to get up close to the organist’s daily life and celebrations: nocturnal rehearsals at the Royal Albert Hall and European cathedrals, decorating organ shoes on the streets, and joining Lapwood’s joy before her first arena tour. Anna Lapwood cares little about genre boundaries. Her immediate and captivating presence has brought huge new audiences to organ music and classical music.
The program will feature music from the films The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean as well as gems of minimalist and classical organ repertoire.
